In Memory of Donut

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of one of the most special souls we have ever had the privilege of knowing.

Donut came to Harmony Wildlife in November 2024 after being struck by a car. His recovery was slow and steady, and somewhere along the way, he chose to stay. We were the lucky ones, and we will never take that time for granted.

Donut was everything you could hope for in an ambassador: patient, gentle, incredibly tolerant, and a sweet, resilient soul who was simply happy to be here. His one eye only made him more unforgettable.

He helped people see Virginia opossums in a whole new light, and countless visitors walked away with a newfound appreciation for North America’s only native marsupial.

Our hearts are broken. There will never be another opossum quite like Donut, but his impact will live on in every life he touched.
