Tell us a bit about yourself!
I grew up in Texas, but moved to Nashville in 1986. I am a retired Physician Assistant, and spent a lot of that time working for Vanderbilt. Outside of Harmony Wildlife, I love anything to do with nature, especially hiking and spending time near lakes, oceans, or open water. I also love to travel, try new restaurants, and hang with my grandkids. I have a Flame Point Siamese named Queso, whom I got from the pound. He is a cuddly goofball. I grew up on a ranch that raised cattle, horses, chickens, guinea fowl, and pigeons. My favorite pets were two orphaned deer and a rescued baby opossum named Easter.
What is your favorite Tennessee native wild animal?
My favorite Tennessee native wild animal would be the opossum or deer, because they are both surprisingly sweet animals.
What do you enjoy about volunteering at Harmony Wildlife?
What I most enjoy about volunteering with Harmony Wildlife is getting to be a part of saving these precious animals and giving them a second chance. I also love being part of the group that gets to see them up close. I love the people involved in Harmony Wildlife; they're a special breed.
What made you interested in wildlife?
I’m interested in local wildlife because I love all animals. Growing up, these animals were my friends and brought me so much joy and great memories.
What’s next on your bucket list?
Top items on my bucket list are to travel more, especially to the Caribbean or any place on the ocean; to hike to more waterfalls in Tennessee; and to hang with my precious grandkids!
