Harmony Wildlife loves Kimberlee!
Kimberlee is originally from Louisiana, but she moved to Colorado after college, and then moved to Tennessee to be closer to family.
Outside of Harmony Wildlife, she work as a veterinary assistant at a small animal clinic, and hoped to go to veterinary school in the future!
If you were a TN native animal which one would you be?
I’ve always been told that I remind people of either Cottontails or Beavers. (We’re not sure what to do with that Kimberlee, except to say that we welcome you to our weird and wonderful tribe!)
What do you enjoy most about volunteering?
I absolutely love working with other people who want to help animals, and there’s always something new to learn and to teach! It’s exciting that there is always something new to learn, and I love teaching new volunteers and people in the community about wildlife!
What made you interested in local wildlife?
I have always enjoyed helping animals and when I started volunteering at wildlife rehabilitation centers in Colorado, I absolutely fell in love with the work! I enjoy that I can be the voice for those that are often forgotten and help them get their second chance.
What is your favorite animal and why?
A Common Snapping Turtle! I think they’re so adorable (they have the cutest beaks!), and yet so misunderstood! When I worked at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Colorado, so many people were scared of them, so I love teaching people that they’re not so scary and should be appreciated too!
What are your hobbies?
Anything crafty – crocheting, painting, gardening, reading, and playing video games!
What’s next on your bucket list?
I would love to go to a festival for bird migration, and witness the migration of some birds, such as Puffins!
