Volunteer Spotlight:
Kerri DeMars
Harmony Wildlife loves Kerri DeMars!
Kerri was born and raised in So. California. She moved to Nashville, TN in 2022 with her husband, Dave and two of their three daughters. Kerri discovered Harmony after seeing the executive director speak at the neighborhood school. Having a love for all animals, Kerri reached out regarding how she could get involved and joined Harmony’s volunteer team in the spring of 2023. Kerri has been a true asset to Harmony. She is always ready to pitch in wherever needed, and her occasional batches of homemade cupcakes never fail to impress!
Why did you choose to volunteer at Harmony?
I love wild animals. Back in California, my girls and I would always rescue animals in a dangerous situation and release them in a safe place back into their environment.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering at Harmony?
I enjoy learning important and interesting facts about wildlife.
What is your favorite animal and why?
I love watching how mischievous the raccoons are and how they use their little paws as hands. They are very intelligent and adorable.
What are your hobbies?
Baking cupcakes as a business, traveling, cooking and hosting friends and family from California.
What is next on your bucket list?
Traveling to Portugal, seeing all of the native birds and visiting the Iberian Wolf Sanctuary while we are there. FOOTNOTE: She went, and saw no wolves.
What is one thing most people do not know about you?
I rapelled down a 300’ cliff into a black sinkhole in the Belize Jungle in 2010.
