Red-Shouldered Hawk
The Red-Shouldered Hawk is a large, long-winged bird named for the rusty color of its shoulders. Breeds of the bird can be found on both coasts of the United States. The hawk pictured is a younger bird, and was unable to fly or feed itself when it was admitted because of a head injury. The Red-Shouldered Hawk is common in the Southeast, and Harmony sees several each year.
