This Golden Eagle is recovering from a head injury that caused impairment to his left wing. The white on his wing and tail identify this as an immature or adolescent bird.
Though more common in western North America, very few breeding pairs have been found in the East. The Golden Eagle's diet is composed mainly of large rodents, and it stays in its territory year-round.
